Hale Kai Condominium

"Home by the sea"

Apt #108

Our guests suggest:

The Sugar Cane Train - A ride on the Lahaina, Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad is fun for the whole family. Call 661-0080 for schedules.

Golf - Hale Kai is within minutes of several courses. The Plantation Course, one of three at Kapalua, is the home of the Mercedes Classic in January and is championship caliber. Kaanapali has courses too. Reservations are a must (Kapalua, 669-8044; Kaanapali, 661-3691).

Whale Watching - The humpback whales (our Hale Kai mascots) are here from late November to the beginning of April. You can see them then from the lanai of #108, often without the need of binoculars. Whale watching cruises are available at Lahaina Harbor. We particularly like those with Pacific Whale Foundation (879-8811).

Visit the volcano! - Haleakala National Park is worth a special trip, whether to see the sunrise at over 10,000 feet in elevation, to hike its 30 miles of interior trails, or to bicycle down its northwest slope.

Heavenly Hana - Drive one of the crookedest roads in the island to the far eastern tip of Maui for lush scenery and picture taking.

Luau - Several Hawaiian luau dinner shows are held in Kaanapali and Lahaina. The Old Lahaina Luau and that at the Marriott Hotel are especially popular.

And of course, there's swimming and snorkeling - right here at Hale Kai. That's our beach, looking toward Lanai.

Who owns Hale Kai #108?
We're Bill and Sarah Devlin. Although we live in the San Francisco Bay Area, we've been coming to Hale Kai for almost 30 years. We bought unit #108 in December 2000 and, with a lot of help from our friends and contractors, remodeled and refurnished it the next month. Now we return to our home on Maui three times a year. We're headed back to Hale Kai in November (maybe we'll even greet the first of this season's whales!). What will we add to our website after our visit? Come back and see!
