Frommers 2007 - "This small, two-story condo complex is ideally located, right on the beach and next door to a county park, which is great for those traveling with kids. Shops, restauarants, and ocean activities are all within a 6-mile radius. The units are older but in excellent shape, and come with well-equipped kitchens (with dishwasher, disposal, microwave, even a blender), and louvered windows that open to the trade winds. Lots of guests clamor for the oceanfront pool units, but I find the park-view units cooler, and they still have ocean views (upstairs units also have cathedral ceilings). This place fills up fast, so book early; repeat guests make up most of the clientele."

Marine life - Our winter visitors see humpback whales (we have binoculars in our living room credenza for your use), but monk seals have been seen here too. Honu (marine turtles) feed on our reef early in the morning and around sunset.
WiFi - If you really have to keep in touch with the outside world, Hale Kai is installing wireless internet connections.
Home entertainment - For those evenings when you want to stay inside at Hale Kai 108, we now provide a flat panel television and DVD player (Premier Video just up the road at the Honokowai Marketplace rents DVDs).
